Incoterms on the offer
The letters decide where risk and cost pass. We use the four that match how concentrate, ore and equipment actually move in this region. Our firm offer states which one applies. A handshake does not.
Free on board. We deliver the cargo over the ship’s rail at the named load port, usually Durban, Maputo or Beira, and we clear it for export. From that point your vessel, freight and insurance take over. This is the basis we use when you already have a ship or a freight contract.
Cost, insurance and freight. Our price includes carriage and insurance to the named discharge port. Risk still passes when we load, which surprises people who read CIF as “delivered”. The contract names the discharge port, the insurance cover and who nominates the vessel.
Delivered at place, and free on truck. On DAP we put the cargo at a named point, ready for you to unload. City Deep is the inland point we use on South African chrome programmes. FOT is the truck-gate version: the parcel is on the vehicle at the named place, and you take it from there. We use both when you want the inland leg included and do not want to run trucks from the mine yourself.

We undertake all customs formalities for imports, transit shipments and export goods in all ports and all border points. We intervene on your behalf for customs clearance and other importation formalities. At border points we also intervene to ensure our clients’ cargo is evacuated within the shortest time possible. All our consignments are covered by insurance therefore assuring complete safety of goods.
Clearance of both export and import consignments is at customs channels through Beira, Durban and Maputo port.

We customs clear for export and arrange shipping of their goods, liaise with our teams abroad to receive and clear the cargo on temporary importation, then store it until our exhibitors arrive. We also ensure the goods are returned back into the country stress free for the exhibitors.

Sampling, licensing, payment
After the sale contract is signed, we invite you or your representative to the site. The visit is for sampling and for seeing the stockpile the offer describes. A laboratory you already trust can receive a split. We open the payment instrument only after you accept that result.
Our payment terms are cash ex mine, or a cash-backed letter of credit from a top-rated bank. We can also fund a programme through an escrow we both accept, including a trade escrow where the bank has confirmed we may draw down against the release conditions. Whichever path you choose, our bank verifies the instrument before we send trucks to the port.
On a confirmed letter of credit, we begin shipment ten days after that confirmation, on the timetable in the agreement. We start the export licence early enough that those ten days are not spent waiting on a permit. If a licence will take longer, we say so in the offer.
You send full banking details and authority for a soft probe of the account.
We set out the product, grade, quantity, price basis, incoterm, origin and port.

Plant and fleet
We sell the concentrate, and we import or export the machines that make it. These are classes of plant, and we quote them per project. We fix the brand, the capacity and the voltage on the offer, once we know the pit’s ore and throughput.
Cells, banks and the conditioning equipment for gold and copper circuits. We quote these for a new pit that has ore and no concentrator, or for a mill adding capacity. We set throughput, grind size and the reagent scheme with your metallurgist before we ship anything.
Gravity spirals for chrome, tin and other heavy minerals that separate by density rather than by flotation. A practical first plant where power and water are limited and the ore will respond to a spiral. We put the stages, the feed rate and whether you want a rough concentrate or a finished one on the specification.
Primary and secondary crushing so that run-of-mine rock becomes a mill feed or a saleable fine, including the 0–2 mm chrome fraction. We choose jaw, cone or a small modular train against the work index and the tonnes per hour your pit can actually dig.
Rigid haulers for the run from face to ROM pad or plant. We match capacity to the excavator’s pass and the haul distance, so the fleet is not a random list of machines. We quote new or rebuilt units, imported to your pit or exported if you are outside the region.
The digging and cleanup fleet around the trucks: hydraulic excavators at the face, front-end loaders on the stockpile, and dozers for the pad, the road and the waste dump. We offer them as a matched set when you ask for the whole fleet, and as single units when your pit has a gap.
To quote a machine we need the ore, the tonnes per hour, the site voltage, the road to the pit, and whether the unit must be on site before the rains. We then issue the same kind of firm offer we use for metal: specification, price basis, incoterm and a payment path. Import permits and port clearance through Durban, Maputo or Beira are included when the contract says so.
Still deciding
Yes, if the incoterm is DAP or CIF to a place the contract names. FOB stops at the load port. Tell us which side of the ship’s rail you want to be responsible for, and we write the offer that way.
You, or someone with authority to accept the result, needs to attend the site visit. A laboratory can still do the assay. We ask you to come so the stockpile and the sample are the same lot.
Our ten-day shipment timetable starts after our bank has confirmed the instrument, not after the contract date. If your treasury needs a different instrument, tell us before the offer is signed. Cash ex mine and escrow are the alternatives we already use.
No. We write metal and machines as separate offers, even when you want both. The payment path, the incoterm and the warranty on a plant do not belong in a concentrate contract.
